Owing to our background in community research and our experience as a qualified youth practitioner, we are passionate about creative community engagements and providing holistic support through diverse activities and skills building workshop sessions. Our vision and mission is community - centred, we work towards a community where people  can create own solutions regardless of their ethnicities and have access to skills and services that can further support  in difficult times. We believe in preventative measures and that tools/skills can determine the outcome particularly in young people and women; hence the number of services in our offering.

One of our engagement tool which is the arts of hair braiding is not just a styling technique but also an art form deeply rooted in various cultures around the world. Girls from ethnic backgrounds understand hair braiding is more than just a cosmetic practice; it is a meaningful tradition with historical, cultural, and social significance. Hair braiding is an excellent starter for striking difficult conversations as well as a creative research strategy. It can help build connections between girls and their peers, parents and young teens.

Braids is popularly believed to be an outward expression of self-love and self-acceptance. Likewise, hair braiding has been around for centuries, with its impact recorded during the slave trade. At Beyond Braidz, we understand psychohairapy's unique relationship and triadic collaboration between hair professionals, mothers and their children. With this in mind, we pride ourselves in delivering transferable skills, and building community connections, not limited to hair braiding, and being able to kickstart impactful conversations between young people and adults within the community.
